A BIT ABOUT THERAPY

Through the use of various psychotherapy methods and collaborative treatment measures, my goal is to help you develop life-changing habits to cope with various life obstacles. My counselling sessions are designed to dissect personal issues, primarily through talk-based therapy, to improve mental health and well-being. I can help to provide effective tools to manage overwhelming thoughts, emotions and behaviours.

GET TO KNOW ME

Throughout my life and educational career, I knew I wanted to help people in some capacity. This path eventually lead me to pursue my Masters of Art in Counselling Psychology and a career in Mental Health.  During my time working in the health care and social service industries, I have come to understand the barriers people face in seeking help with their mental health. Whether it be difficult life circumstances or persistent negative emotions (e.g., sadness, stress, anxiety, anger), I understand that you may feel unsure about how to address the issues that are causing your suffering. It is only when we confront our wounds or source of the negative emotions that we can then start to heal. I am here to help you through that process.

I appreciate how difficult it can be to find a counsellor that is a good fit for you. As a Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Counsellor, it is my job to help you identify, understand, and heal those difficult emotions and thoughts through a safe, non-judgemental counselling atmosphere. I believe each person has a unique set of needs and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so I tailor my work to your individual preferences. Together we will establish treatment goals and work together to heal old or current wounds. Using various psychotherapy methods I can then help you to dissect personal issues, develop coping skills, and enhance a sense of inner strength. I believe suffering and challenges are opportunities for learning about ourselves, cultivating internal resources, and continuing our search for wholeness.
